17 days.

Most people right now are thinking about their summers and how 3 months is too long or seems too short. They may be thinking about what will happen when they get back to school in the Fall or they may begin thinking about what they are going to pack for their long awaited study abroad program that they've waited months to leave for. They've had time to think and they will continue to have time to think. I have 17 days. I can no longer say "Oh I have (blank) months left. Or 3 weeks left." I am now left with 17 days. Where did time go? Just about 2 months ago I found out that I could go to Chile and the next thing you know I am about to go.... It'll be a great experience. There are just some things here that I'm not sure that I'm ready to leave behind yet. Though, last night made my summer just about complete. I got to be surrounded by all of those here that I care about the most. Well, ok not everyone that I care about was there but close enough. I remembered the value of the lyrics by Michael W. Smith and truly felt that I understood that "Friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them." A song, a campfire, and stars brought us together again. And even though my life is different than it was just 2 years ago and though I will deny it, I do miss it. Not enough to cry about it or be upset about it, but enough to miss the feeling of being apart of that family. But thats ok, a new chapter of my life is about ready to begin again.
